There will always be another mountain to climb.

We’re still waking up in the 60’s in Orlando, but the Easter season is upon us, Lenten fasts are lifted, and the first blooms of the garden are starting to open up.

Spring has definitely sprung.

We’re also already 10 days into Quarter 2.

And I’m not on track.

Not everywhere I want to be.

I am down 15 lbs since the beginning of the year.

We’ve brought on new clients, and will soon onboard another.

Most of our client campaigns are on track.

But still, there is so much to be done, and so much that, in my mind, should have already been done.

It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by it all.  To forget all that I’ve already overcome and accomplished.

A close friend started a conversation around “contentment” earlier this year, and it’s stuck with me.

We’ve discussed many things like “gratitude” and “journeys” and “enough” in the past weeks.  How it’s easy to forget how far we’ve come when we look ahead and see an even higher mountain to climb.

We have not come to a conclusion, so perhaps these conversations are yet another example.

There will always be another mountain to climb.  There is no “end.”

The world will keep spinning, the seasons will keep cycling, there will always be the need to plant another garden.

Being grateful, celebrating the peaks, and acknowledging the reality of the valleys… these are all there to remind me.

Everything may not be going at the pace I imagined.  But looking back, I know I have the ability to keep moving in one direction.

Forward.
